RECREATION PROGRAM

Overview

Recreation soccer is open to boys and girls aged  6 to 18 years old.  The children are divided into groups based on their birthday (see chart below).

Micro Division

Our Micro Division is run by Soccer Stars United. They will run a Grassroots Feeder Program for ages 2-5 year olds. Professional trainers will implement a 4v4 method through the 3 C's - Curriculum, Coaching, and Culture.

U8, U10, U12, U14, U18

The other children in the Rec program are divided into co-ed teams based on their age.  The size of the team is also based on the age group (see chart below).

Children will practice twice a week – once with their coach and once with a professional trainer (usually on Saturday mornings) and have a game on Sunday.  The practice sessions are usually one hour long and the duration of the games is once again dependent on age (see chart below).

The goal of these sessions is to teach the children the basics of soccer using fun drills and games.  The professional instructors will start the children on drills which will be reinforced by the parent coach during the second day of training.

SCSL is a member of the Hunterdon County Recreational Soccer League. HCRSL is composed of neighboring Hunterdon County soccer organizations and teams.  The U8-U18 teams travel to the local municipal locations for away games. These teams include Kingwood, Union, Alexandria, Holland, Flemington and Delaware.

Detailed Information

Locations

Practices are held either at the East Amwell Municipal Complex or across the street at the East Amwell School Fields. Once the teams are formed, the coaches will inform the parents of the training location and time.

What to wear

All children should wear shin guards, cleats, and comfortable clothes to practices (shorts and t-shirts).

Cost

One of our primary goals at South County is to ensure that any child who wants to learn to play soccer can do so at an affordable price.

The cost for recreation soccer is $120.

The club also offers a discount to families with more than one child.

$110 for 2 registrants

$107 for 3 registrants

$100 for 4 registrants

  • As a non-profit organization the highly depends on volunteers, a one time $150 will be added to the registration. This bond will be returned at the end of the season upon a volunteer job being completed.
